Lighting Up My Life!

Today, at noon-ish, my husband will choose to take the severance package and separate from his company. This is the first step in the process of retirement. When he turns 66 in February, then he will claim his Social Security and be "retired". I am younger but I will change my status soon to claim mine early so I can put it away as part of my retirement plan.

To celebrate, we bought two of these lamps for the new living room, which I now learn is called the "Great Room". My daughter will help us with the house decorating.

Tomorrow, they put down the new carpet in the family room in our present house. This will give us some space to start organizing the things we want to pack and take with us. So much will be thrown out!

I expected this to take another year so I am a bit disorganized. We will have to decide on a house and put this one up for sale. It could be a few months or another year (if we have one built). I don't know which is the lesser of two evils.

The question remains, "How am I going to get any work done at all?" I have a short plan for some cemeteries to visit. My husband and "boneyard buddy" may still be working until mid-June. I was hoping for a couple days in late May to do some of the photography and tending of relative's graves. So much for the New Year's  resolution plan I made for my genealogy work!
