This is an example of tags and a caption that have been merged with this photograph of the memorial stone of one of my 9th great grandmothers, Hannah Lake who married John Gallup.

Journey's End

posted by Midge Frazel

Yesterday, I turned in my final assignment for my last graduate course in Lesley University's online program for Technology in Education. It's a good feeling to be nearly finished, since degrees are not awarded until October 25th. I have taken the time to create a "Master's degree in a box" to store all the work I have done for each class and to archive as much as I can to CD.

My portfolio was created with Microsoft's PhotoStory 3. I have posted it to YouTube. At this Web hosting site of video material, there is a 10 minute time limit so it may have taken me longer to edit this down to fit than it did to create it. I have corrected a few typos in the version I burned to CD and mailed to the prof.

What do you think...should I post information here about how I created it?

Iditarod Winner Passes Away

Susan Butcher, four time winner of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race, died Saturday at age 51 from leukemia. Susan may have been born in Massachusetts but her heart was in Alaska. She put great spirit into everything she did and was one of the people who made the Iditarod race popular for schoolchildren (and their teachers) everywhere. She was a person of great character and will be missed.

Read this great tribute to her by Jon Little.
